Americans love to have their summer fun, but times are tough
and everything is so expensive. Don’t worry, we’re here to help
with our list of
Ten Totally Free Fun Summer Activities

1. Wait until your snooty neighbors with the swimming pool go on their
vacation. Then the neighborhood pool party can begin!
2. Have your kids stock up on free condoms from their school for a
summer water balloon fight.
3. Open all the fire hydrants in your neighborhood to simulate the streets
of Venice. For added fun, decorate your car to look like a gondola.
4. Scour the local firing ranges for unspent rounds you can use to make
your own fireworks.
5. Watch the local ball club play from outside the fence. If the security
guards try to shoo you away call them fascists.
6. Go swimming in the nearest public fountain. Those signs that say “No
swimming or wading” are just there to protect the city from liability.
7. Build a backyard amusement park with items you have laying around the
house. Use your imagination. One example: Reverse bungee jumping.
Take some bungee cords and attach them to a tree branch, then attach the
other end to the jumper. Two people hang from his legs, then let go and
let him fly.
8. Another fun ride is The Stuntman Dive. You simply jump from your roof
or other high place, landing in a large stack of empty cardboard boxes to
break your fall. Always remember to wear a helmet.
9. If you still have a drive-in theater nearby, they usually send the sound
over the radio these days. That means you can find a nearby rooftop and
listen over your boom box.
10. Another do-it-yourself amusement park ride: All you need is a large tire
and a big hill. Be sure to watch for hazards like traffic or a large body of
water at the bottom of the hill.
